Review: GEO Fresh Brown Circle Lenses

$

To continue my circle lens posts, today I will be reviewing the GEO Fresh Brown lenses!

GEO is definitely the most popular Korean circle lens brand as they are the only brand to be certified by the FDA. And with all their lenses, they have an authentication code on the side of the vial to ensure you receive and use only the genuine lenses!

I am a huge fan of brown natural lenses because they are the easiest for me to wear. Let’s see what I think of the GEO Fresh Brown lenses.

More information:

Brand: Geo
Name: Fresh Brown
Water content: 38%
Diameter: 14.2mm
Base curve: 8.6mm
Prescription? Yes

Comfort: 7/10
Even though the water content on the GEO Fresh Brown are the lowest at 38%, they are comfortable due to the small diameter. I can wear these for 5 hours without eyedrops.

Design: 8/10
The design is subtle and looks natural when worn. Even though it looks lighter in the vial, it is not noticeable unless you look really closely. or in bright light The outer rim is only a brown ring, and not black, so it does not look too dolly.

Enlargement: 6/10
Most of the time, the black rim on the outside of lenses play a huge part in how large or dolly your eyes look. Because these have a brown one and the diameter is only 14.2, it is great for a subtle enlargement. But that is what I prefer. Anything larger than 14.5 looks odd on me.

Colour: 9/10
Pretty standard honey brown. Lightens the eye colour slightly for a bright look! I actually really like the effect even though I prefer a more natural brown look.

Get the Geo Fresh Brown lenses at Geo Coloured Lenses for  a sale price of US$20.90.

Until next time, annyeong~

P.S. One more post to go until I go on hiatus for my university final exams. But the hiatus is only a short one since I finish in the first ¼ of the exam period……..

How To: Get Clear Skin (ft. Clearasil and Korean Skincare)

$

0

Hello lovelies~

Today I have a different blog post from usual. I thought it would be a good idea to write about my tips on how to get clear skin using skincare products everyone can incorporate into their beauty regime.

I will be featuring products from Clearasil and Korean brands! All the products are affordable and will not break your bank.

Firstly I will talk about the most important tip anyone can ever give you regarding your skin health.

Eating healthy: Your skin, the largest organ in your body, reflects your internal system. If you treat yourself with good healthy food, you end up cleansing your body from all the toxins that end up in your skin texture. I am sure most of you battling with acne have seen the chart of acne that shows you the correlation between problems in your body with the part of your face acne breaks out from. It is a good way to tell you that what you put in your body will have a powerful influence on the way you look and feel.

Sun Protection: Everyone has heard about the importance of sun protection for your overall health and skin. I believe it's an essential to always be protected from the sun due to the dangers of UVA and UVB rays. For more information, head to Clearasil's informative website on Summer Skin care!

QUICK SUN PROTECTION TIPS

Ultraviolet A rays, or what I call UV Aging, is what causes premature aging because it penetrates deeper into the skin.

Ultraviolet B rays are what people typically use sunscreen/sunblock to avoid. UV Burning (these are not scientific terms) usually only penetrate into the epidermis (outer layers) and causes sunburn.

✰ Sun Protection Factor (SPF) mainly refers to protection from UVB rays.

Broad Spectrum Protection refers to protection from both UVA and UVB rays.

Did you know the PA+ PA++ PA+++ and so forth rating system is not approved by the FDA? So I always use sunscreen that says Broad Spectrum Protection. However this is the system used in Japan/Korea commonly. Each country have different standards for their different climates. Just like how the British Standard for sunglasses is lower than the Australian/NZ standard because our sun is more harsh.. Your sunglasses should be labelled with the Australian/New Zealand standard AS/NZS 1067:2003. If they don't they are only fashion spectacles.

Always wear sun protection if you are outside for longer than 10 minutes. Doesn't matter if it's cloudy or if it's winter! UVA rays are powerful enough to penetrate through glass in your office or home.

A lot of people have asked this before and it's the question of... when do I apply sun protection? Before or after makeup? I personally apply it after moisturiser and when it has already dried. Just so I can avoid any chemical mixing that may minimise sun protection.

✰ Sun Block acts to block out the sun rays from penetrating into the skin. So typically people associate sun block as thick and gives a white cast.

✰ Sun Screen acts as a screen and deflects sun rays, though it is not 100% successful so some still penetrate through

✰ Remember to apply enough sun protection. Two milligrams of sunscreen per square centimeter of skin is what usually testers for sun protection use. I talk more about this in the bottom of the post.

Always apply sun protection throughout the day! It does not stay effective for long

MedicationThere are prescriptions available from your dermatologist in severe cases.

I understand there are different cases with different individuals so I am not saying that following these steps will absolutely without a doubt give you clear skin. However for the majority who are looking for skincare tips and tricks to maintain healthy better skin, these are the products you can look into.

Clicking on the bolded product name will bring you to my separate review.

Cleanser:

The first step in the skincare routine is facial washing! Cleansing is important to remove the pollutants, makeup and bacteria that accumulated throughout the day. It is especially important to remove makeup thoroughly before you go to bed each night because makeup that stays on your face end up enlarging your pores and stretching your skin, with a loss of elasticity imminent.

Here I am featuring Clearasil’s Ultra Rapid Action Gel Wash. This Clearasil has been on the market for a long time now and is an affordable product to try! Gel cleansers are a great choice for combination skin as it is designed to remove excess surface oils, but any skin type can use it. Check out Clearasil's Skin Care guide which can help personalise your daily routine. Cream cleansers might be more beneficial for individuals which very dry skin.

The Clearasil Ultra Rapid Action Gel Wash works fast due to salicylic acid which is a pimple fighting ingredient. This product is also dermatologist recommended, meaning it was tested in the laboratory. The best thing is that there is no alcohol in this product!

Toner:

Toner is the most debated product out of the simple cleansing, toning, moisturising routine. Some people swear by toners while others argue the benefits. I personally have lived with and without toner, trying to see if there is a visible difference in my skin if I did or did not use it.

The answer: Yes there was a difference. And it had to do with the hydration level. I found that using toner helped promote moisture in my skin. However this will be a different story if you choose to use astringent which is heavily alcohol based and mainly for refining pores.

Moisturisation is key in maintaining healthy clear skin as it keeps the skin from drying and producing more oil in order to balance skin texture. More oil production can lead to blocked which eventually turn into pimples and bumpy skin.

Toners also work to remove the left over cleanser residue and balances your skin pH.

Recommendation: Etude House Wonderpore Freshener Toner (click for review)

I have been using Etude House’s Wonderpore Freshener for almost a year now and really like it as a gentle toner. It did not break me out even though my skin is sensitive to new products.

Note: Toners are sometimes called ‘lotions’ in the Chinese, Korean and Japanese beauty industry.

Serum:

Serum is not part of the basic skincare routine but I believe is a good product to incorporate into your daily beauty regime. Serums contains high concentrations of skin beneficial ingredients and penetrates deeper into the skin for a more effective result. Serums have a heavier texture compared to ampoules or essences, and are formulated to target specialised areas.

This is especially good if you have a certain skin concern as there are a numerous amount of serums on the market that cater to many individuals.

Recommendation:It's Skin Power 10 Formula LI Effector

My current concern mainly on facial and acne scarring so I have been using It’s Skin Power 10 Formula LI Effector which is an ampoule, but is similar to serums.

Moisturiser:

I mentioned why moisturisation is important in the Toner segment. It is extremely important for you to moisturise even if you feel like your skin does not need it. Keep your skin supple and you will be rewarded.

Recommendation: Skinfood Royal Honey Hydro Cream

This is a hydrating treatment cream with royal honey and royal jelly extracts to get you a moisturised and translucent complexion!

Extra treatments

Exfoliation:

Important for scrubbing away the dead skin cells that accumulate daily. Regularly dead skin cells make your skin appear dull and can lead to blocked pores. It also helps with fast product absorption.

Clay/mud masks:

Draws up the impurities from your pores for deep cleansing! Best used after steaming your face with a hot towel or steam machine. Also, by extracting excess surface oils on the skin, pores are minimised.

Recommendation:Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask

Spot treatments:

When you have stubborn spots you need to go quickly, whether it is for an important event or in general, spot treatments are amazing at targeting the site directly and drying up the acne to heal quickly.

Dual spot treatments that are both makeup and skincare can be a lifesaver at times.

Recommendation: Clearasil Daily Clear Tinted Pimple Clearing Cream

Pores need to be kept clean in order for skin to be clear of acne. This fast absorbing cream penetrates deep into the pore removing bacteria while acting as a cover up. Fast absorbing products are great for busy people as it does not leave an unsightly residue.

So there you have my simple guide to clear healthy skin. Please use this guide with discretion.

Review: GEO Big Grang Grang Brown Lens | The Most Comfortable Circle Lens!

$

My review on the GEO Big Grang Grang Brown Lens. The most comfortable circle lens I have ever tried!

 Hello Lovelies~

Today I will be sharing another circle lens review! But I'm really excited to share this one with you because it managed to triumph over my Geo Eyevelyn circle lens (made with silicone hydrogel) which I absolutely adored. Let's welcome GEO Big Grang Grang Brown to my collection.

Brand: GEO Medical
Name: Big Grang Grang
Colour: Brown
Water Content: 38%
Diameter: 15mm
Base Curve: 8.7mm
Prescription? Yes

A lot of websites and blogs say that the diameter of these lenses are 14.8mm but they are really 15mm.

Comfort: 10/10

These are by far, the most comfortable circle lens I have ever tried! Which is surprising considering I have tried circle lense with a smaller diameter and also higher water content.

Once in the eyes, you can not feel them at all. And usually with circle lenses, the edges of my vision is a little blurry but these are perfectly clear. I cannot fault them at all.

I can wear these for 6 hours without feeling my eyes feeling dry and in need for eye drops (something I don't have.... but will buy soon).

Design: 9/10

How cute are these animal lens cases that are shipping with Love Shopping Holic orders?!

The limbal ring is a dark brown rather than a black to give a more natural colour effect. The design of the lenses allow the colour to blend beautifully and seamlessly with brown eyes and is not strong or prominent enough to give you "alien" eyes.

I was reading an article on limbal rings and apparently, we unconciously judge an individuals attractiveness by how prominent their limbal rings are.... Very fascinating. The darker it is, the more white your eyes appear. Limbal rings are the sign of youth as it fades as you age.

But I tend to find circle lenses with dark limbal rings too unnatural so I prefer a design like this.

If you like a more dolly and big effect, find lenses with black limbal rings!

Enlargement: 9/10

The GEO Big Grang Grang lenses are 15mm and even without dark limbal rings, definitely enlargen your eyes. These are big but still look fine even if you are without eye makeup. Love these!

Colour: 10/10

The GEO Big Grang Grang lens range come in two colours: brown and choco. Choco is a darker brown while brown is a honey brown.

On brown eyes however, it does darken quite significantly. It isn't light enough to look artificial but isn't dark enough that you can't see the colour change.

I'm not very good at blending hair extensions heheh'

Korean Vs Japanese Makeup | BEFORE AND AFTER MAKEUP TRANSFORMATION VIDEO

$

Hello lovelies!

Today I have a fun video where I demonstrate the differences between Korean and Japanese makeup! This is inspired by the popular Korean VS American makeup videos but I've decided to do a Korean vs Japanese take on it because I like both styles. This is a BEFORE AND AFTER MAKEUP TRANSFORMATION where I show you guys my interpretation of these makeup styles.

In the beginning video, I have a base + eyebrow video which is pretty much similar in Korean and Japanese makeup (flawless base and straight eyebrows). Then we move on to the Korean makeup which focuses a lot more on the eyeliner and a natural look rather than eyeshadow play and false eyelashes like with the Japanese makeup (inspired by Himekaji/gyaru/popular teen makeup).

Review and Haul: iHerb | Real Techniques Brushes and E.L.F Cosmetics

Hello lovelies!

It's time for a haul from iHerb! This is my first time purchasing from iHerb so I'll also do a quick review for you guys. As well, I have a iHerb discount code/coupon for up to $10. Let's get started~

Order date: 15th of June
Arrival date: 22nd of June
Discount code for up to $10+: Enter "WWF997"at the checkout

Everything is packaged neatly in a medium sized cardboard box! There is an inflated iHerb plastic bubble (?) to help protected the products during the shipping journey.

Received free measuring cups along with the order!

ORDERED PRODUCTS:
Real Techniques Blush Brush
Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
Real Techniques Setting Brush
Real Techniques Sculpting Brush
E.L.F Studio Angled Contour Brush
E.L.F Studio Eyebrow Kit in Dark

The Real Techniques and E.L.F brushes came in their original packaging and the E.L.F Eyebrow Kit came with bubble wrap. I assume because there is powder and it is prone to cracking during transit.

Real Technique brushes in Australia are extremely expensive but luckily we can get them on iHerb. And even with Priceline 3 for 2 deals, it is still way cheaper to get Real Techniques on iHerb. So for my Australian readers, do check out iHerb for Real Techniques and E.L.F!

I purchased the E.L.F Angled Contour brush because I was looking for a nose contour brush. Reviews on iHerb said they used this for nose contour so I grabbed it. But looking at it up close... I'm worried. The angle is extremely flat and seems too big for nose contour... However I will have to play around with it to make an accurate judgement.

There will be a Real Technique's brushes review when I manage to try out all the brushes.

In conclusion... iHerb.com is a splendid site to shop from. The products arrive in perfect condition and the shipping to Australia was quick (exactly 7 days). Definitely recommend!

*Remember you can use code "WWF99" for up to $10+ off your order*

So that's it for today.

See everyone later!

Review: THE BASAK 바삭 | STRATHFIELD SYDNEY

$

Last week to celebrate the end of semester 1, I went out with my cousin for some Korean food and a movie! We watched Jurassic World which was a mix of romance, suspense and comedy. Let's not count the amount of times I actually got surprised by the jumpscares.

My cousin decided to visit the Basak which is located very closely to Strathfield Station! Just walk out through the side with the small fountain and walk straight for a little bit. It's on the other side of A'HA Cosmetics.

Address: 10A The Boulevarde, Strathfield, Sydney, NSW
Foods available: They specialise in Korean street stall food! Including Ddeokbkki (rice cake), sundae (Korean blood sausage), kimbab etc.

The store also does takeaway. There were many people who came in and left with their order.

The restaurant itself is quite small, longer than it is wide and gives a very home-y feel. The atmosphere is very relaxed and chill. The area is small but with many spaces to sit at, even for the one person! If you don't mind high chairs and facing the wall of course.

For the patrons, there is a self-service table with various sauces and toppings. There is spring onion and a fried topping for your ddeokbokki. If you can't take spicy, I recommend you to use the toppings.

We ordered two dishes:

The Pork Cutlet Kimbap$8.00

Great value for money. The kimbab is long and completely stuffed with pork cutlet, radish, carrot, cucumber and more. The pork cutlet was succulent and tender with a light crumbed crust. Each kimbap is coated with a thin dash of sesame oil and topped with sesame seeds. Absolutely fragrant.

Ddeokbokki(Spicy Rice Cake Soup)$8.00

Includes a small quantity of fish cake and a generous serving of rice cake. They have five spice levels and we went for the mild (the lowest on the spice radar) but it was still pretty strong. The rice cake was chewy and gets chewier the longer it has been left sitting.

However it was very flavourful, seasoned well and did not only have the taste of gochujang (red pepper paste)

All in all, The Basak 바삭 is a great place for lunch or snack time! The workers speak English, as well as Korean, so do not worry about ordering.

Would love to go back again to try their other kimbaps. Love it!

REVIEW: MISSHA PAINTING ROUGE CHIFFON (CPP01, CRD01, CRD02)

$

Hello lovelies~ If you follow me on Twitter (@hiyoonyee), you'll know how much I love trying new lip products! So today I'll be sharing with you my thoughts and review on the new Missha Chiffon Painting Rouge in CPP01, CRD01, CRD02.

Thank you to Jolse for sending these products for me to try!

More information:
Brand: Missha
Product name: Painting Rouge Chiffon
Ranges: They have a Missha Painting Rouge Syrup range that gives a glossy finish
Size: 6.4g
Price: USD$7.18 (discounted)
Shades: 5 shades

Packaging

Each Missha Painting Rouge, including the Syrup range, is packaged the same. The only difference is the change in the word 'Syrup' or 'Chiffon' on the front of the product.

Packaging is sleek, with a matte black top handle and a clear plastic body so you can differentiate between the shades. This makes it a lot easier when selecting the colour you want, especially when you have a lot of lip products! Because it is plastic it will not break easily. The plastic is thick and sturdy yet slim enough to slip into a small purse or bag.

There is a stopper at the mouth of the opening to make sure you don't get an excessive amount of product, which can lead to sloppy application.  The applicator is quite unique with its arrow shaped head and a flat tip. Personally I don't think it shape because I find it harder to apply with precision but it does not matter for you if you like to do gradient lips instead!

Colour:

I ordered three colours.

CPP01 looks a lot darker on the promotion pictures than in reality, something I'm quite disappointing about. It looks like an extreme purple in pictures that is definitely not the case. It's more of a wearable blueberry, perfect for people who are transitioning into darker colours. The shade is very similar to Innisfree's Color Glow in 06 (review here)

CRD01 is a neutral tone red with slight tinge of pink. Another shade that looks completely off from the online pictures. I was looking forward to it being more pum toned but this is a very ordinary red lip colour.

CRD02 is an orange red lip colour that looks more red in real life than in the modeled photos below. It is neutral toned aas well.

Finish:

Matte is the wrong word to describe the finish on the Missha Painting Rouge Chiffon lip products.

When applied using a lot of product, it gives off a glossy finish which slowly turns silky. The less you use, the more quickly it turns silky. If you have used matte MAC or Stylenanda lipsticks, this is definitely not matte. It's an extremely soft texture that has a powdered effect when left to dry. Very comfortable to wear.

Texture/Formula:

This formula is very thick and will easily stain your lips if you don't do the 'finger in mouth' trick.

Use any finger, put it inbetween your enclosed lips and pull it out. You'll be able to see any lipstick that would have stuck on your lips if you didn't wipe it off!

Because the formula is thick, it does transfer even when it has dried to the silky 'chiffon' finish. Which is sadly one of my peeves about lip products. I often get lipstick in my lips when wearing lipstick and was really looking forward to using more matte products to prevent it from happening.

The colour payoff is 100% opaque and really easy to blend! Though it is prone to bleeding slightly so you should check your lip colour often when out.

Results:

It's a soft product that leaves a nice tint on your lips after it has faded away.

I wish it had more colours.

Until next time, annyeong~

REVIEW: STYLENANDA 3CE MATTE LIPSTICK 804 STAY BY ME

$

Stylenanda is a brand that I have always wanted to shop from. I adore their clothes and makeup! Their models, including Park Sora, Kwon Soojung and Jung Minhee are basically the faces of Stylenanda 3CE. And thankfully, I was lucky enough to try my first Stylenanda lipstick courtesy of Alice from w2beauty. Thank you very much Alice! I have a discount code for people who want to shop at w2beauty:

'Use code: 04161007 and get $5 off on an order of at least $30!'

Now let's get on to the review!

More information:
Brand: Stylenanda 3CE | 3 CONCEPT EYES
Finish: Matte
Shade: 804 Stay By Me

Packaging:

Absolutely beautiful packaging. Matte black all over, with a square bottom so the lipstick will stand easily. The size is larger than regular lipsticks, like MAC, Etude House, Innisfree etc, however it is extremely sturdy and secure.

On the front, there is a printed logo of 3CE 3 Concept Eyes, which is the name of the Stylenanda makeup range. Then at the bottom, there is a sticker with all the information regarding the lipstick.

Colour:

In the picture above, Stay By Me 804 is depicted as a strong pink. However this does have slight orange undertones and seems more coral than anything else.

In the below pictures, the camera failed to pick up how pink the lipstick bullet actually looks but it definitely looks more milky pink than orange.

 Texture / Formula:

This Stylenanda 3CE Lipstick in 804 Stay By Me is a matte formula. Stylenanda has various finishes with the most matte called 'Dangerously Matte'. However their original matte formula is matte enough for me.

It doesn't apply or glide easily but it does blend well. For this lipstick, you definitely need a mirror to apply with.

The formula of this lipstick is not drying on the lips but does tend to do a fair amount of pilling or 'cracking'. You can prevent this by exfoliating and moisturising your lips before application!

Results:

Stylenanda lipsticks are known for how long lasting they are and this lipstick is no different. It can last for up to 6 hours before I recommend you to reapply as matte lipsticks are prone to falling within the lines of your lips.

Where can you buy this?

I got this from w2beauty for $24.27. Get yours now.

Until next time, annyeong~

Review: FreshFlowers.com.au | Australian online florist delivery

$

0

During a special occasion, flowers are often given to celebrate! However with people leading busier lifestyles, more and more people are looking to get their flowers ordered online and delivered. So today I am introducing to my Australian readers an online florist boutique that helps delivers your flowers for you.

Research reveals that people feel more compassionate towards others, have less worry and feel greater happiness when fresh cut flowers are present. Yes, it is fact that fresh flowers feeds compassion, boosts energy, and improves happiness and enthusiasm. - taken from freshflowers.com.au

Fresh Flowers vow to pick and cut the freshest flowers for whatever need arises. They deliver to most capital cities, territories, metropolitan and regional areas in Australia (except in some areas which are not covered by their standard delivery service). However if this situation arises, they will personally contact you and arrange something for the delivery.

Looking for international deliveries? No worries! FreshFlowers.com.au also delivers overseas as part of Interflora. They also provide same day delivery if you order before 2pm on a weekday and 10am on Saturday. They do not deliver on Sunday or public holidays. More information can be found on their FAQs.

And if you require more assistance, they have a Customer Service Line at 13 37 37.

Their website is clean, simple and incredibly easy to navigate. At the top, you can choose to browse options depending on the occasion, flower, style, price and market specials. When you join as a member, you can get 10% off your first order. However you can always enter the discount code "FFCARD" for 20% off for a limited time ;)

Now with the introductory stuff out of the way, let's get on to the review!

I ordered a Delightful bouquet which is sold for $79.95, and paid $10 for the delivery.

Ordered: 8 July 2015. I wanted the bouquet to be delivered the next day, on the 9th.
Delivered: 9 July 2015 5pm.

Sadly, when you order you flowers, there is no option for your to choose which time you want it to be delivered.

The person who delivered the flowers was efficient, knocked on the door, asked for my mother (I ordered the flowers for her), and presented it before going on his merry way.

The Delightful bouquet is described to contain a gorgeous mix of gerberas, lisianthus and premium roses. It is colour coordinated into purple and pinks! It is beautifully wrapped in a green non-woven wrap, their signature hessian overlay and green satin ribbon with a height of 40cm.

The wrap is incredibly sturdy, as there are a couple layers. However the little mesh part does tend to shed slightly.

You can write a message for the person to be delivered to! On the green card is the recipient's name, inside is the carded message AND flower food to make sure your flowers last a long time. Wonderful!

It has been almost a week and the flowers are still vibrant, though most have slightly wilted and become limp.

REVIEW: ARITAUM SHINE FIX EYES (19 SECRET PARTY, 20 LOVE BITE)

Aritaum is becoming one of my favourite Korean drugstore brands! I first fell in love with their lip products and now their eyeshadows are definitely catching my eye.

Today I have a review on the popular Aritaum Shine Fix eyes! I got two colours, 19 Secret Party and 20 Love Bite.

More information:
 Brand: Aritaum
Eyeshadow range: Shine Fix Eyes
Shades: 20 available
Price: US$10.48
Size: 3 grams

Packaging:

The size is slightly bigger than the Aritaum Mono Eyes which I reviewed here. The packaging is plastic, not glass like how it looks, and with a simple black and white colour scheme.

This makes it easy and light to transport but is quite bulky.

There is a stopper for the eyeshadows as it is heavily glitter based and prone to fall out.  The texture is also incredibly soft, reminiscent of thick jelly, and it isn't stuck to the bottom of the small eyeshadow container either. There is no scent from this product.

Colour:

19 Secret Party is a rose orange bronze colour that looks brighter in real life than the below photos. And of course, it is loaded with glitter and sparkles. One thing I realised was that makeup artists of idols do like using orange eyeshadow so I thought it would be interesting to see how it would look on me. Orange is supposed to brighten  the eyes.

20 Love Bite (fascinating name) is a bronze brown, and with no purple undertones like how the name suggests otherwise.

Texture:

I mentioned above that these eyeshadows are incredibly soft and bounce back when you press your fingers into the shadows. One tip I recommend for people who are thinking of purchasing this is to use your finger for application. Pick up the product but dipping your finger in and pressing slightly.

These eyeshadows are crazily pigmented (very similar to Mono Eyes) and definitely not sheer, as something you often find with glitter based shadows. I made the mistake of trying these eyeshadows for the first time before I went out and boy, did it not look pretty with how heavily I applied it. Be careful as some of the glitters do tend to clump when you pick up the product, meaning when you blend it in, glitter fall out will ensue.

Again, like the Aritaum Mono Eyes, the lasting power for these shades are amazing. It does not get dull throughout the day and can definitely last for 10 + hours. This is with eye primer of course, I always use the Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer. If you wear eyeshadow on a daily basis, eye primer is a must-have. You need to make sure there is a proper base for your eyeshadow to stick on.

Do I recommend these shadows?

Absolutely! Especially if you love your glitter eyeshadows. The flecks are not big or unsightly, perfectly sized to give your eyes a great pop. Just make sure you blend it properly and wipe off any glitters that may have fallen off and on to your face during application.

I got mine from Jolse, thank you very much! Get yours here at JOLSE for $10.48

Rimmel London Wonder'full Wake Me Up Mascara Review

Mascara makes a huge difference in your makeup and it's something I have only now started using religiously. I've had my fair share of drugstore mascaras with very little luck. The only drugstore mascara I have even slightly liked was the Maybelline Colossal Cat Eyes mascara but that still does not win over my Japanese mascaras. My favourite has to be the Kiss Me Heroine Long and Curl mascara as it gives amazing length and can hold its curl for a really long time.

Today I will be reviewing the new to Australia, Rimmel London Wake Me Up Mascara in Black. This mascara does not clump and fall out, which is amazing considering I had more than 3 coats on in the second modeled picture. It's a very natural looking mascara if you only apply 1 coat and only really lengthens. There is no volume given by the Rimmel London Wake Me Up mascara. Because the formula is infused by cucumber extracts, it smells heavenly! The best smelling mascara I own as it gives off a fresh and slightly perfumed scent. Great as a morning pick me up.

The wand has a curved waist and is bigger than what I am normally used to so do be careful when applying the mascara. The Rimmel London Wonder'full Wake Me Up mascara is also quite sizeable (bigger then the Maybelline Colossal Cat Eyes) with a twisted body.

However it does end up smudging slightly on the under eye after 5 and a half hours. But it is easily removable!

Rimmel London Australian Stockists:

Get your Rimmel London Wonder'full Wake Me Up mascara at your local Australian Priceline, Big W, Woolworths, Coles, Chemist Warehouse and My Chemist.

Fat Panda, Canley Heights

I've been to Fat Panda in Canley Heights for a total of two times now. The restaurant is half a sushi train and half table seating... quite reasonably small so I do recommend you book if you want to visit on a busy night! If you are sitting at a table, feel free to go up to the sushi train and pick whatever you want.

They offer an assortment of sushi rolls, sashimi, handrolls, udon, specials and more! All reasonably priced for Japanese cuisine. For three people, we paid $69 for lunch to be completely stuffed. There is one other Japanese restaurant that opened fairly recently called Ryoma Japanese which specialises more in bbq and hot pot (with small korean fusions).

The atmosphere is very relaxed, in contrast to its' sleek and modern interior. Service is fast, workers are attentive and friendly. I am very happy, for both times I have visited.

Pictured above is a Eel and Cream Cheese and Alaska Roll (Half/4 pieces) and the Salson Tartare on the specials menu. I recommend the Yaki Udon and Soft Shell Crab hand roll, but the beef we chose to complement the Yaki Udon was too tough to chew. The pieces were big though.

Do try out Fat Panda if you are in the area :-)

La Grilla, Canley Heights

I've visited La Grilla two times since it's opening and have yet to try their popular Korean-Mexican fusion tacos. Next time, next time I will.

The first time I went to La Grill was with my father. We arrived relatively early for dinner, around 6pm so we were the first patrons for that night! It was a Saturday if I remember correctly. The restaurant quickly filled until we had two families waiting for tables. The restaurant is fairly small as well so I recommend you book if you are bringing a large group or eating during a busy dinner hour. For lunch, I don't think it's necessary.

We tried one of the bbq sets, made for two people and we were stuffed with the set + a side order of Tempura prawns. Of course with Korean cuisine, you cannot forget the banchan (small complimentary side dishes). The portion sizes of the banchan change depending on how many people are dining... but you can always ask for refills. There were egg rolls, acorn jelly, an onion mix, mashed potato and pickles.

One of the meats in the bbq set consisted of 90% fat so my father and I didn't touch it. I can't remember which cut it was since it was a months ago. So I'm not sure if I want to recommend the bbq set. However the marinated meat was tasty, perfectly balanced with the salty flavours.

The green tea patbingsoo was expensive for the serving size and wasn't particularly generous with the red bean or rice cake but it's La Grilla is the only Korean place in Canley Heights. When cravings strike, you just can't help it. Some of the ice was not shaved properly either, there were large chucks near the end. I say give it a miss, unless you really want a nice cold treat after your meal.

The second time I visited La Grilla in Canley Heights was with my mother and father. We ordered Ddeokbukki, Korean kimchi and pork pancake, bulgogi rice set and a spicy chicken rice dish set. This was enough to fill three stomachs! Ddeokbukki was mildly spicy and I wish they had more fish cake in the portion. There was very little kimchi and pork in the pancake but was fried nicely for the crisp outer layer. The bulgogi and rice set was the winner of the night, seasoned perfectly. The chicken was tender and the salad that came with it had a great balance of salty and tart flavours.

La Grilla is the only Korean restaurant near the area and it's a good substitute for when you cannot be bothered to go further for it. The service was friendly though we had to ask a few times for water to be served.

Aritaum Sugarball Velvet Blusher Review (#4 Peach Crush)

Hello lovelies~ I'm back with a Aritaum Sugarball Velvet Blusher review. I have reviewed a number of Aritaum products and none of them have disappointed me so far. Let's get started with the review of this new Sugarball Velvet Blusher range by Aritaum!

More information:
Brand: Aritaum
Name: Sugarball Velvet Blusher
Colour: #4 Peach Crush
Size: 8 grams
Price: US$9.98 from Jolse

Very simple packaging as it is a powder blush in a pact form. The top 'lid' corresponds to the shade you purchased and in my case, it is #4 Peach Crush. The bottom level is black. There are four shades in the Sugar Ball Velvet Blusher range and Peach Crush is the 'darkest' one. The Aritaum Sugarball Velvet Blusher range also includes a cream blush.

The word 'Velvet' is printed with a holographic foil-esque material which gives it a lovely touch.

Included in the blusher is a small brush that I have not used. It is too thin and the bristles are not dense enough for me. However the hairs are quite soft and could be a great way for a light or heavy application depending on which direction you use it.

The above photos make the blush look orange but I assure you that it is not. It's a gorgeous peach pink colour with very fine gold glitter specs. When I first swatched it on my finger it reminded me a lot of NARS Orgasm blush. However this blush does not have as much glitter as NARS Orgasm and applies slightly different on the cheeks. Looking at the pan, you can't see the glitter at all!

On the skin, the blush looks very natural as the glitter flex does not transfer onto the face. I like to apply the Aritaum Sugarball Velvet Blusher using my Real Techniques Blusher brush. In the below swatch, it is the result of 3 heavy swatches! If you like blushers which look natural, but is versatily and easily buildable, this is the one for you. It is definitely more pigmented than the Etude House Lovely Cookie blushers (reviewed here) if you wanted a comparison.

For daily wear, I swirl my brush 2 times around the pan and then lightly dust below my eyes to make me look bright and awake. This has been my go-to blusher recently and blends beautifully. Perfect for when you are in a hurry as cream blushers take a while to blend. And the shade is so forgiving even if you are heavy handed.

The texture of the powder is incredibly fine and does not make the skin dry at all. Wear time is average, around 5 hours.

Until next time, annyeong~

Review: Rimmel London Lasting Finish Kate Moss Nude Lipstick Collection

The Rimmel London Kate Moss lipstick collections are by far my favourite drugstore lipsticks. I love both the Lasting Finish and Lasting Finish Matte collections. Fact: My favourite lipstick of all time is the Rimmel London Kate Moss Lasting Finish lipstick in shade 19, which has sadly been discontinued, but was lucky enough to snag one more on eBay.

So when Rimmel London launched their Kate Moss Nude lipstick collection, I knew I just had to try them.

 Brand: Rimmel London
Name: Lasting Finish by Kate Moss Nude
Shades: 5 shades available - 40, 42, 43, 45, 48
Finish: Lustre/Normal
Price: AUD$12.95
Size:  4g, 0.14oz.
Where to buy: Priceline, Chemist Warehouse, Woolworths, Big W, Coles, My Chemist

The Rimmel London Kate Moss Nude lipsticks are packaged in a light pink (think strawberry milk) lipstick casing. The same as their regular Kate Moss lipsticks with the signature print except now there is a silver ring that bears the Rimmel London brand engraving.

In Australia, there are 5 available shades: 40, 42, 43, 45, 48.

Shade 40: A cool tone (slightly) salmon pink nude lipstick. Reminiscent of the concealer lipstick look, and using my mum's words "makes me look like a sick patient". I have a light skintone (NC15-20) and this is not flattering at all. Looks orange when swatched but does appear so on the lips. When blended out, it does remind me a lot of my natural pale lip colour.

Shade 42: A neutral light pink nude, with a hint of brown tone. There seems to be a heavy brown tone in the swatches provided but when applied on the lips, it transfers quite ordinarily.

Shade 43: The perfect nude brown for me. The shade 43 swatches look very orange but is truly a brown nude. It feels neutral yet leans lightly on the warm side, perfect for many skin tones. This shade has an extremely smooth application and is my second favourite out of the range.

Shade 45: Shade 45 looks similar to 42 at first glance but this one is a pure pink nude, basically what barbie pink would look like at a job interview. Its a very demure and elegant nude lipstick, perfect for those who are just venturing into the realm of the nudes. Extremely forgiving and versatile for day and work makeup. Tie second with Shade 43 in my favourite shades.

Shade 48: Then lastly we have 48 looking quite like the odd one out of the bunch. It reminds me a lot of MAC Whirl (aka the Kylie Jenner lipstick) through online swatch observations. This purple brown lipstick is perfect for fall and not at all as scary as it might seem. Its not outrageously bold nor safe, and I can picture myself wearing this to uni without being subconscious. For a cheap dupe lipstick for the Kylie Jenner look, this is definitely the go-to option. As always you can mix this shade with another colour to tone it down a notch. I recommend this shade to everybody! My favourite out of the range.

In general the formula is moisturising and provide a smooth application with slight shine. It lasts an average 5 hours, even while drinking! (though the lighter the shade, the quicker it will fade). Most of the shades in the Rimmel London Lasting Finish Kate Moss Nude collection are quite safe and seem easily dupe-able but is a great starting foundation for a nude lipstick collection. Hoping to see more shades to come!

Review: Aritaum Color Lasting Tint (02, 06, 15)

If you have read my past Korean cosmetic reviews, you would know that my current favourite Korean roadshop brand is Aritaum. I was given the opportunity to review these new Aritaum lip tints from Alice at w2beauty a while ago, back when they were new, so without further ado here is my review. (MY W2BEAUTY DISCOUNT CODE: Get $5 off with 04161007)

Brand: Aritaum
Name: Color Lasting Tint
Shades: 15 shades available. Reviewing 02 Baby Wink, 06 Cranberry Shower and 15 Gotham Red
Price: US$9.95 - 11.91
Size: 4.5 g
Where to buy: Jolse, w2beauty, beautynetkorea, ebay

The Aritaum Color Lasting Tints are packaged in slim black lip tint tubes. The plastic exterior makes the product easy to clean if it gets dirty in your bag and the secure twist cap ensures the product does not spill. There is a stopper in the tube that removes excess tint on the body of the applicator giving it a nice clean look. They are very light and easy to pop into your bag for on-the-go touch ups.

The wand is very similar to the regular doe foot applicator, however, there is a tapered top and a crevice in the middle for the product. This ensures that you do not pick up too much product for an even coverage. I love the tapered foot for when you want a precise application.

Swatches:

02 Baby Wink: Baby Wink is a lovely pure natural red, and what I have been going for this past month. It's an extremely wearable and forgiving colour as it is not the most pigmented or loud out of the bunch. Easy to touch up with.

06 Cranberry Shower: Cranberry Shower is a loud pigmented hot pink shade. It lasts an incredibly long time due to the saturated colour and a little bit of product goes a long way. 06 Cranberry Shower is definitely a shade for the people used to wearing bold colours as it is very in your face bright pink, even when you use a little.

15 Gotham Red: Gotham Red is a pure dark red, there are no berry or purple tones. This shade reminds me of Hyuna's darker makeup, as she is often seen with a dark red lip.

All these shades have a neutral tone.

Formula:

It has a glossy finish with a moisturising formula. The glossy finish disappears after the first hour. The formula is not drying at all and can be worn even without a lip balm base. The average lasting times for Aritaum Color Lasting tint:

02 Baby Wink - 4 hours (quickest to fade but does so forgivingly)
06 Cranberry Shower - 7 hours (even after trying to wipe down this shade with makeup remover, it still won't budge)
15 Gotham Red - 6 hours (dulls down to a normal red colour, rather than the normal dark tones)

However these are the lasting times until the shades become dull. If you want to keep the vibrant colour, I do recommend you retouching up at the 4 hour mark.

Swatches and Review: Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette (FIRST IMPRESSIONS)

I am an Urban Decay Naked pelette junkie. After buying the Naked 1 palette last year, I have fallen in love with the shade range and amazing quality from Urban Decay. It is my favourite palette of all time and I use it for every single makeup look. So to diversify my daily looks (away from my browns), I wanted to try the Naked 3 palette for their rosy hues. Here are the shades and their swatches! Also a few comments on my first impressions of the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette.

Brand: Urban Decay
Name: Naked 3 Palette
Size: Same size as the UD Naked 1 Palette
Price: $US54
Where can you get it? In Australia, you can get it from Mecca Cosmetics! I got my Naked 1 palette from feelunique.

"Experiment with 12 NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN (and insanely beautiful) rose-hued neutrals—from pale, shimmery pink to deep black matte with rosy red micro-glitter. Our art-school-inspired tin case is a gorgeous rose-gold color (a subtle hint at the shades inside). Embossed on top with a big "Naked3" and cool facets that beg to be touched, it's sure to inspire lots of jealous stares." - from UD

Click for a better look!

"Dare to get Naked all over again with Urban Decay’s latest shadow palette. Naked3 debuts 12 insanely beautiful rose-hued neutrals in an impressive range of shades—from pale, shimmery pink to deep black matte with red microglitter—in ultrasmooth matte, pearl, and glimmering metallic finishes. Each shadow features Urban Decay’s Pigment Infusion System™, the proprietary blend of ingredients that gives every shade its velvety texture, rich color, serious staying power, and blendability." from Urban Decay

There are 12 NEW eyeshadows, 1.3g each. In quotation marks is how Urban Decay described each shade.

4 mattes, 5 shimmers, 3 satins.

1. Strange: "pale neutral pink matte-satin" Strange is matte shade from the Naked 3 with a pale pink tone just as described. However the formula feels slightly chalky and barely appear on the lid. I consider this a matte.

2. Dust: "pale metallic pink shimmer w/iridescent micro-glitter" Is this fairy dust or an eyeshadow? The glitter is very fine and the pale pink shimmer blends beautifully. But there is a lot of fall out so be careful when applying.

3. Burnout: "light pinky-peach satin" Burnout is a lovely smooth pink peach satin eyeshadow. Moderate pigmentation but beautiful in it's own right.

4. Limit: "light dusty rose matte" Limit is a matte rose brown, perfect for everyday looks.

5. Buzz: "metallic rose shimmer w/silver micro-glitter" Buzz is also a shimmer but does not feel as chalky and grainy as Dust when swatching when my fingers. It is more pigmented than Dust with less fall out.

6. Trick: "light metallic pinky-copper shimmer w/tonal micro-sparkle" Trick is a dark copper gold eyeshadow that applies more friendly than Dust. Dust is a glitter bomb while Trick tones it down with micro-sparkles instead. Very smooth to apply.

7. Nooner: "medium pinky-brown matte" Nooner is the favourite of mine for the beautiful pigmentation and matte finish. Described as a pinky-brown, it does have purple tones as well. Perfect as a base or to blend out your eyeshadows with.

8. Liar: "medium metallic mauve shimmer" Liar feels very satin in its finish and has a lovely metallic sheen to make the eyes pop. A pink mauve is the perfect description.

9. Factory:"pinky-brown satin" A pink taupe with a slight gold sheen. Very pigmented.

10. Mugshot: "metallic taupe shimmer w/slight pink shift" A taupe brown with a slight rose gold sheen. Very pigmented and great to use to blend out your eyeshadows.

11. Darkside: "deep taupe-mauve satin" Chalky, dry and not pigmented. It looks great on the pan but doesn't blend as effortlessly as the other shades in the Naked 3. Good for the outer v.

12. Blackheart: "smoky black matte w/rosy red micro-sparkle" A very pigmented black matte, that blends into a smokey dark grey. The red micro sparkle can barely be picked up on the eyelid.

I like all the shades except Strange and Dust.

I hope you guys found this post helpful!

Best Fall Lipsticks for Fair Skin 2015

I know it is spring time here in Australia but with all these fall centric blog posts and videos, I couldn't help but join in the party.

For more swatches and a better look at these lipsticks, watch my video on my Top Favourite Fall Lipsticks 2015! We call fall autumn here in Australia...

Here are my top favourite fall lipsticks 2015! They work great on fair skin.

Rimmel London Kate Moss Nude Lipstick in 48 (review and swatches of the collection here)

The Rimmel London Kate Moss Nude Lipstick in 48 is my favourite out of the lipsticks here for fall. It is a dark brown but still remains wearable. If you want to tone it down, you can mix your lipstick shades together. This is a great option to get the 'Kylie Jenner lipstick look'.

Aritaum Honey Melting Tint in 10 Bitter Rose (Review and swatches here)

A natural toned down pink brown. The perfect 'my lips but better' shade for me. It has a slight sheen with a moisturising formula that makes it comfortable to wear all year around. The Aritaum Honey Melting Tint is very popular in South Korea.

Rimmel London Kate Moss Matte Lipstick 107

This Rimmel London lipstick is by far the most popular out of their Kate Moss collections. 107 is a lovely dark red, great for the night out as it is a statement lip. Plus the matte finish allows the formula to stay on for longer without making your lips dry.

  MAC Rebel Lipstick

My first MAC lipstick when I was looking for a plum burgundy shade. It transfers more red on the lips as opposed to the tube but looks amazing as a gradient lip or a full flip. MAC Rebel is a satin finish.

These are my top 4 Fall lipsticks for 2015. Oxblood, burgundy and browns are trending for this year's lipsticks while red is a classic! Which one do you like the most? And what are you favourites? Leave a comment down below!
