Review: Mamonde Rose Water Toner

Hey guys! I am back with a Korean skincare review featuring the Mamonde Rose Water Toner. I have been playing around with the settings on my camera so these photos look a lot different from my typical photos. Do you like it? Should I keep this setting? Let me know c: (I took the first two photos and the rest of the post at two separate times hence the cooler saturation in the later photos... THE FIRST TWO PHOTOS ARE SUPER PRETTY THOUGH)

Anyways, here is the review!

 Brand: Mamonde
Country of Origin: South Korea
Name: Rose Water Toner
Price: US$16.98
Size: 250ml (500ml available)
Where to buy?Jolse, w2beauty, cosmetic love, ibuybeauti, beautynetkorea

Packaging:

The Mamonde Rose Water Toner is in a gorgeous transparent light pink plastic bottle. The design is quite simplistic with a rose printed label and white top/writing. Mamonde is quite known for their minimalist branding and packaging as opposed to to some high end brands. Mamonde is manufactured by Amore Pacific, the same as Laneige, Hera, Sulwhasoo, Etude House and Innisfree for example. There is a significant amount of product in the bottle which is great since their pricng is higher than such brands like Etude House and Tony Moly.  Mamonde has repackaged this line, I have the upgraded version hence the different packaging if you google it.

Old packaging: taken from Mamonde Facebook
New packaging with Mamonde model, South Korean actress Park Shin Hye

SNSD's / Girl's Generation Yuri was the past Mamonde brand ambassador.

90.89% of this toner is rose water (instead of regular water), something you can definitely smell. It's very light and fragrant, not headache inducing like some artificial perfumes.

Product:

The toner is clear and reminiscent of water. It claims to have a soothing effect and offers deep hydration. I have been using this toner for a month now, every day after cleansing. It does a wonderful job at removing any left over cleanser residue and any dirt that has been left on my skin. However it does not have any makeup removing properties. This Mamonde Rose Water Toner also helps keep your skin pH levels balanced, which is often made unbalanced with cleansers. Having your skin at the optimal pH 5.5 (roughly) levels maintains supple skin.

It is very hard for me to find skincare that does not break me out. So if you are like me, I definitely recommend you give this a try! It expires 12 months after it is first opened.  This is the first Mamonde product I have tried and I am looking forward to purchasing more of the brand.

I have not broken out from this toner yet because it is so gentle on the skin. It feels refreshing on a hot day and it leaves a slight hyration and fragrance afterwards. The natural rose scent does dissipate rather quicky, perfect for people who do not like fragrance in their beauty proucts.

Plus the Mamonde Rose Water toner is mineral oil, artificial colouring and animal by-product free. Dioxin is a toxic environmental pollutant that is dangerous for your health in significant doses.

Ways to use the Mamonde Rose Water Toner:
1. After cleansing, use a cotton pad and saturate it with the toner. Use light sweeping motions.
2. Spray as a mist
3. Soak a sheet mask with this toner and use it as a soothing pack
4. Pour toner with a facial oil into a small bottle and use it as an oil mist. 7:3 ratio.
5. Soak a makeup sponge with the Mamonde Rose Water Toner and use it to apply your base/face makeup.

All in all, this is a great gentle toner perfect for all year around and all skin types. I definitely recommend this product! However if you are looking for something that specifically targets problem areas, then I am not sure if this is the product for you as I have not seen any actual impovements to my skin yet. I do feel like it has lessened my redness but that's about it. Thanks to Sunnydahye on Youtube for recommending this product.

Until next time, annyeong~

Review: Skinfood Royal Honey Propolis Essence

*Skinfood Royal Honey Propolis Essence Review*

It's spring here in Australia and usually after the cold winter months, I want to change up my skincare routine. Today I am introducing a new product I received and have been loving! The Skinfood Royal Honey skincare line is one of my favourites, their moisturiser (review here) is amazing. And luckily, I was able to try the Skinfood Royal Honey Propolis Essence in the same line for this review.

Let's get on with the post.

Brand: Skinfood
Name: Royal Honey Propolis Essence
Type: Skincare (for all skin types)
Price: US$26.38 (roughly between $24-$28)
Size: 50ml
Where to buy:Jolse, ibuybeauti, w2beauty.

Packaging:

This product is a little more expensive than some other Korean beauty items I regularly use, and this is definitely reflected in the packaging. The glass bottle has a lovely dark honey to light gold gradient, reminds me of Japanese/creme caramel puddings (does anyone know what I'm talking about? :p) Because it is made of glass, it is quite heavy and not suitable for travel. However you can always use the small travel sized bottles that are easily found at general stores.

I am not kidding you when I say that I am pretty much in love with this packaging. You can tell when the product is closed properly when the pump is closed. However when you twist the cap, the pump pops up. This movement creates a suction that allows the propolis essence to travel up the dropper. And when you close it and the pump falls down, the excess product is ejected back in the bottle. That's neat! No need to pick up any product by yourself, the packaging does it for you. The dropper is glass as well.

Scent:
A light.. medicinal smell. It's extremely light and it doesn't exactly smell medicinal but I couldn't describe the smell in any other way. But it is not heavy and unnecessarily artificially fragranced.

 Product:

Ingredients list:
Propolis extract (50%), royal jelly extract (20%), honey extract (10%), glycerol, dipropylene glycol, Butylene Glycol, Portulaca Oleracea extract, arginine, beta-glucan, disodium EDTA, Sodium hyaluronate, hydroxyethylcellulose, Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol (taken from retsun on asian beauty subreddit)

Essences are part of an extended skincare regime. Usually it is applied after toner/lotion. Lotion in Korean skincare is basically toner in western society, just a heads up. The Skinfood boasts about this product to provide skin protection from environmental factors and moisture. The simpler the claims, the better I feel about the product.

There is black bee propolis extract 50%,  royal jelly extract 20% and royal black honey extract 10%. Propolis is produced by bees from the sap of needle-leave trees or evergreens. It is produced by bees to coat their beehives and has been used as a skincare ingredients for years. Propolis is popular for its' medicinal and antibacterial properties, Egyptians used it for the embalming process of mummies!

The essence has a light viscosity, thicker than water but not as much as a cream. Compared to other essences, this does have slightly thicker formula for your information. If you have used an ampoule, it is exactly the same. Sometimes when I use this, I give myself a short facial massage because it doesn't absorb immediately like toner. This texture makes it easier to absorb into the skin and apply. I love how even though this product is light, it provides a slight moisture barrier (seen from a small sheen) when blended into the skin. After a short while, the product is completely soaked into the skin but still feels hydrated and moisturised to the touch. As well, one pump of the essence is enough for the whole face. I have been using this for around 3 weeks everyday after my Mamonde Rose Water Toner and I still have a lot of product left.

I expected this essence to be thicker so I was pleasantly surprised to see that it is not. That being said, I do not think this is fit for winter. This is definitely a summer, spring and autumn product as it is not thick enough to provide intense moisture.

Another plus is that this product has not broken me out, or given me any other skin troubles. In fact, I think this product has brightened my skin.

The line gives you a short 'pamphlet' on the product
Because it is spring right now in Australia, I have been loving the Mamonde Rose Water Toner and this Skinfood Royal Honey Propolis Essence. It is perfect to use with a light moisturiser.

I definitely recommend this product if you can splurge a little more. It fits all skin types due to its gentle formula. However this is not a necessity for your skincare regime. This works wonderfully due to the simple premise but definitely not a miracle worker that makes all your skin troubles disappear. I hope thsi review was useful for you!

Until next time, annyeong~

Review: The Saem Eco Soul Tint In Oil PK02 Bad Coral

* The Saem Eco Soul Tint in Oil PK02 Bad Coral review *

The newest craze in the tint world are oil tints and The Saem Eco Soul Tint in Oil is a great alternative to the $$$ higher end brands. Read below to find out my opinion/review and more pictures and swatches!

Brand: The Saem
Name: Eco Soul Tint In Oil PK02 Bad Coral
Type: Korean lip tint
Price: US$8~
Shades: 6 shades.
OR01 Orange In Red
OR02 Your Orange
PK01 Cherry in Pink
PP01 Wild Berry
RD01 Thats Red
PK02 Bad Coral
Where to buy: Jolse, w2beauty, beauty net korea, ebay

Packaging:

The tint itself is fairly big as there is an obvious thick layer of plastic surrounding the actual product. However it feels sleek and easy to pop into the bag. The packaging is pretty standard with the doe foot like applicator. The applicator has a flat tear drop shape with a hole in the middle. This allows the product to be evenly applied as opposed to one huge dollop. The shapr had also lets you apply with precision and shape your lips.

Product:

PK02 Bad Coral was featured in Hoversjelly's youtube video and that's how I found out about this product. When I first received it, I wore it every single day. The oil tint is not sticky nor does it feel like a thick layer on the lips. It is so light even though it does not get absorbed quickly. I actually like this because it gives extra hydration and a lovely glossy shine. The hydration is given by the nourishing oil complex in the tint in oil featuring macademia, jojoba, apricot, carthamus and borage oil.

After around 20 minutes is the oil completely absorbed and the colour seems to get more intense. When you think of coral, you think a mixture of pink and orange. However PK02 Bad Coral is pretty much a true light pink. It is not in-your-face, so it is perfect for every day wear. The tint itself lasts for a very long time, way after the glossy oil shine has disappeared (around 5 hours before I suggest you reapply). The formula is comfortable and smells like candy! I will definitely repurchase this. It is great for all year around, especially if you like glossy lips.

The Saem Eco Soul Tint in Oil is very easy to apply as it does not stain quickly like some lip tints (TonyMoly.. Etude House Dear Darling tint...). So you can apply this without a mirror as it is great to blend with. Best part... No obvious stain on your fingers!

I've been loving it for more dramatic eye looks

I really enjoy this product as it does not feel heavy and leaves a lovely pink tint on my lips. Highly recommend!

Until next time, annyeong~

10 Summer Break Essentials ☀

$

Hi lovelies!

It is almost summer here in the southern hemisphere yet funnily enough, I swear that it is already here. What was up with 40°C+ weather last week? Anyways, since I am on summer break now from university studies I thought it would be a great time to share with you my essentials for summer and hot weather!

Let's go.

Summer Sunscreen Essentials

 Neutrogena Beach Defence Sunscreen

The Neutrogena Beach Defence is my favourite sunscreen for the face. The lotion type absorbs quickly and does not leave an oily think film on the face. Perfect for use under your makeup. Plus it has SPF50 Broad Spectrum (UV+UVB) protection.

Summer Skincare Essentials

 Mamonde Rose Water Toner

This light toner is refreshing on the skin and the nose. The Mamonde Rose Water toner is made of 90.89% Rose water rather than the typical aqua. Amazing for days where you are feeling fatigued because the natural rose scent isn't over empowering and just stimulates the senses. Can also be used as a facial mist, just pour some toner into a spritz bottle and pop it in our bag! Full review here.

Burt's Bees Pomegranate Lip Balm

This is my favourite Burt's Bees lip balm as it nourishes your lips and gives a lovely subtle red tint. It is thick enough that you do not have to apply constantly but thin enough to make it feel like nothing on.

Summer Makeup Essentials

The Face Shop Face It Aqua UV CC Cream

A CC cream is lighter than a BB cream and foundation, and has more skin benefits than typical base makeup. This CC cream is extremely light and feels natural on the skin while keeping you matte. Great as a matte base for your foundation but also amazing on its own. This is my favourite Korean CC cream.

Summer Book Essential Reads

Brother Grimm's Complete Fairy Tales (Leather bound)

Out of my book collection, the Grimm's Complete Fairy Tales is my most prized due to its' leather binding and extensive collection of childhood short stories. This includes Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Hansel and Gretel, Snow White etc... but in it's original gruesome form. A perfect read for the summer break. Purchased from Booktopia.

 Summer Food Essentials

 Kasugai Lychee Gummy Candy

Lychee is one of my favourite summer fruits. This candy has a very natural lychee flavour and a translucent gummy body. Perfect for everyday snacking. Another favourite I love is the Sanitarium So Good Soymilk. Love soymilk!

Summer Hair Essentials

Batiste Dry Shampoo

Batiste Dry Shampoo is a cult favourite all over the world. I use Batiste religiously and great for people who get oily hair quickly or want to lessen the number of hair washes a week. The travel size is less than AU$5. My favourite scent is the floral one. Easy to use and my recommendation for the summer!

 Summer Nail Polish Essentials

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat

This top coat is great for the gel nails look.. but without the need to visit the salon. The claims that it prevents chips for 14 days is false but gives a glossier coat than normal top coats.

Sinful Colors Professional Nail Polish in 300 Easy Going

A light pink nail polish that is a dupe for the Essie Fiji (but with a greater formula), and for the fraction of the price. Lasts for a relatively long time and can be easily matched with all colour fashion pieces.

Fashion Summer Essentials

Missguided Pink Wide Brim Fedora hat and Paper Scissors Back Wide Brim Fedora Hat

Both of these hats are my all season fashion favourites. I use both interchangeably and the wide brim is grat for shielding your skin from the harsh summer sun. For more summer fashion items, check out Boohoo's holiday shop here. I will have two summer fashion looks up soon with Boohoo so please anticipate that. Can't wait to show you the summer pieces I picked up from Boohoo.

TWO SUMMER OOTD LOOKBOOK W/ BOOHOO

Hello lovelies~

I was contacted a while ago to participate in Boohoo's #WeAreSocial Summer campaign and could pick pieces to style. Here are my two summer oufit stylings and why I think they are perfect for the summer season.

Shoes: ASOS

This is what I usually wear during the hot weather. I pair my tennis skirt with just about everything. The Boohoo Libby Off the Shoulder Frill Crop Top has a bardot feel and great for showing off the shoulders during the summer season. As well the top is so light/flowy and not restricting at all. The styled the off the shoulder top with a wide brim fedora and a saturn choker because these are my favourite accessories for the season. Plus the white heeled sandals from ASOS makes sure your feet can breathe. A quick review of the eBay Tennis Skirt: these skirts are very short so make sure to wear something underneath.

 Top: Cotton On
Bag: Colette
Hat: Valleygirl

Culottes have  been a big hit during this year and I have always wanted to try styling one. Culottes are a lovely versatile piece which can be worn casual, as shown, or more formal. For a more formal look, you can pair it with a low cut crop top or a tight fitting blouse. These Boohoo Molly Textured Creped Culottes are so light to wear, perfect for those summer days and nights. If these had pockets, it would be even more amazing. I accessorised the black culottes with a black floppy hat to shield my skin from the sun and a monochrome bag to keep the colour palette of this look.

Not all of these items have links available so sorry about that!

Check out more pieces from Boohoo's holiday store here

I hope you enjoyed my styling of the two Boohoo pieces.

Review: COSRX Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask

*Review COSRX Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask*

COSRX is a Korean beauty brand with a large cult following, yet an underrated general reception. Hearing raves from fellow bloggers and Korean skincare enthusiasts, I decided it was time to try some of COSRX's popular products. I will be reviewing the Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask today, followed by the Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser and Natural BHA Skin Returning A-Sol.

Brand: COSRX (COSmetics + RX (prescription) = COSRX)
Name: Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask
Size: 50g
Price: US$12.8
Where to buy:Jolse

taken from jolse

Packaging:

The COSRX Rice Overnight Spa Mask is sealed in a sleer plastic tub with a mason jar inspired top. This is to ensure that the product is preserved and kept fresh. Unlike the general consensus on skincare creams where the expiration date is 12 months after opening, the Rice Spa Mask lasts 2 years from the manufactured date. Packaging is compact and small (50 grams), perfect for travel.

Product:

Now the reason why I decided to try this mask was because I was looking for a new moisturiser. So I haven't specifically used this as an overnight mask but I definitely can see how it would shape up as one. Note: I have been using this as a moisturiser for around 2 months.

My skin is very sensitive to new skincare products and I always try to be careful and smart about my choices. Seeing as how the COSRX Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask has passed the CosDNA analysis, I was excited to try it.

"Enriched with more than 65% of rice extract, this mask provides intensive nourishment with dep moisture and brightening"

COSRX sells two overnight masks, the rice and honey. Honey is by far my favourite skincare ingredient but wanting to spice things up a little, I went for the rice. The rice spa mask is proclaimed to have a nourishing and brightening effect when used regularly and I thought it would be a good time to take care of some facial acne scarring.

As well, COSRX has the most adorable illustrations (shown above).

It provides very impressive moisture, even when used as a moisturiser and not a mask. After applying a pea sized amount, my skin still feels smooth and supple after 12 hours. The texture is a hybrid of a gel and cream, not too thick and definitely not too light where the product just completely sinks into the skin and does nothing. Many people are worried about thick moisturisers, thinking it will stain their pillow, block their pores etc but there is no need to be anxious about the Rice Overnight Spa Mask. The mask is very easy to apply and doesn't take long for the product to absorb into the skin, unlike the popular Laneige Water Sleeping Pack_EX

Following COSRX's philosophy of producing effective products by removing unnecessary ingredients, extravagant fragrances have been left out of the Rice Overnight Spa Mask. There is no smell, perfect for people with sensitive noses!

After 2 months of using the COXRS Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask religiously, my skin has not reacted badly to this product. However, whether the brightening effect of this mask has been effective, it is hard to say. Rice has, after all, not been extensively researched as a potentially effective skincare ingredient even though it has been widely used in Asian skincare as a skin softener.

I definitely recommend this product for people with all skin types as a simple wholesome moisturiser and leave-in mask, with no hidden nasties.

To read more about COSRX, CompletemySeoul was lucky enough to interview COSRX's Marketing Team Assistant Manager. It is worth a read to find out more about this rapidly growing brand.

I hope everyone has been having a wonderful Lunar New Year and/or spent the holidays with your loved ones!

Have you tried any COSRX products? Which ones are your favourite?

Introduction: What is SkinB5? + Review

$

0
Hello everybody! Long time no see (and talk)!

Today I will be introducing SkinB5 and writing some short reviews on some of their products. But before we head off to the main of this post, I just wanted to say that I was experiencing a slump with my blog content and took time to focus on some other things in my life. As well, I am also writing for my university leaving less time for me to write on my blog. But hopefully I will be able to find a balance for it soon.

So without any further ado, let's get started!

What is SkinB5?

SkinB5 is an Australian company with a revolutionary natural acne fighting system. Their breakthrough formulas help balance skin oils and prevents acne before it starts. SkinB5 have won many awards for their acne products and is ideal for all skin types. SkinB5 contacted me a while back asking me to review their products so here are some first impressions.

SkinB5 Acne Control Cleansing Mousse

Foam cleansers are the most gentle out because it requires minimal rubbing to lather, since it is already foam! It is formulated to be gentle, non-drying and suitable for all skintypes. The smell is very pleasant and light due to the Aloe Vera and Green tea extracts. As well, this product is completely free to Benzoyl Peroxide to make sure it is not harsh for sensitive skin users. This cleanser instead uses salicylic acid which is beat for blackheads and inflamed spots. However it has been tested that salicylic acid in cleansers are not as effective as if it were in toners or products that can be left in.

SkinB5 Acne Control Moisturiser

The Acne Control Moisturiser is a light lotion, perfect for summer and day time use. The only trouble I have with this is I like my moisturisers to be thicker and this lotion dries too quickly. But this is good to use as a base before makeup. There is also no artificial scent.

 SkinB5 Skin Purifying Mask

I enjoy this skin purifying mask immensely. As an avid lover of clay masks, this SkinB5 alternative also helps draw out the impurities from the pores for a fresher and more vibrant complexion. This SkinB5 Skin Purifying mask can be used as a spot treatment or an all over face mask. I especially like to use this as a spot treatment to help dry out pimples and the effects are that it allows the pimple to heal quicker.

As part of the SkinB5 system, you are supposed to take their tablets and capsules. The extra strength tablets are to be taken three times a day with meals and then the Acne Control Capsules are used after to maintain the effects of the tablets. I have not been using the whole system for a long enough time to see any effects so I will come back later with a note on this medication. However the tablets are very big and if you have touble with swallowing pills, this might be a struggle. But of course you can crush them into your food or drinks to make your intake much easier.

SkinB5 Acne Control Caplets and Extra Strength Tablets

With skincare, every individual's skin will react differently. How this product worked for me or someone else, will not necessarily be how you will find it. So it is very important to do heavy research before planning on trying a whole acne system. I wish everyone the best in their acne fighting battle!

I hope you enjoyed this first impressions post.

Until next time, annyeong~

Review: GEO Tri Color Grey Lenses

** GEO Tri Color Grey Review **

Hi everyone! I would typically have an excuse for my long hiatus but honestly I wasn't feeling all too inspired to keep blogging for the last couple of months. But with the university break starting, it'll be a great time to get back into the writing routine.

As well, I have planned for a couple of YouTube videos to come out soon. HOWEVER, because my MacBook was stolen a month and a half ago, we will need to wait until I replace it before I can edit and film. So without further ado, let's get on to the review.

Brief Description:

Brand: GEO
Collection: Tri Color
Colour: Grey
From: South Korea
Prescription: 0.00 ~ 10.00
Diameter: 14.2mm
Base Curve: 8.60mm
Water content: 38%
Price: AUD$28.50 on Geo Coloured Lenses (Free worldwide shipping on all orders)

Comfort: 8/10

The most comfortable pair of circle lenses I have ever worn were the GEO Big Grang Grang at 14.8mm. The GEO Tri Color Grey is smaller but does seem to dry your eyes out faster than the Grang Grang. However it was not irritating at all and could be easily inserted without any hassle. You will most likely need to apply eye drops at around the 6 hour mark (this is from someone who does not need to apply eye drops at all).

Design: 7/10

These lenses do not look as grey on me as the ones seen on the Geo Coloured Lenses so I am disappointed. I think it is due to the quite bright yellow/green design on the inside ring. In photos and real life, these seem more dark grey/green on my brown eyes.

Enlargement: 3/10

For some reason, these lenses seem a little small for my eyes. Some of the brown from my eyes do peek out through the lenses. They do not enlargen at all but do add a fun colour to your look.

Colour: 6/10

Again as mentioned above, these lean slightly green rather than a true grey. However the colour is not a natural one so it is perfect for enhancing whatever makeup look you are trying to put together.

Overall: 24/40

The enlargement factor dipped the score a lot but overall, the GEO Tri Color lenses are a classic for circle lens wearers. Easily found on many online shops, it is a great pair for first time wearers. The small size makes it easy to slip in and the wide perscription range is a big plus. However if the most important thing to you is comfort then I definitely recommend the Geo Big (or regular) Grang Grang (clicking the link leads you to my review).

Until next time, annyeong~

*Review Select Fairy Basic Brown One Day Lenses Pinkicon*

It has been a while hasn't it? I am back with a review of my first one day disposable lenses from Select Fairy Basic Brown! Thank you Pinkicon for giving me the chance to try them

Brief Description:

Brand: Select Fairy
Collection:  One Day
Origin: Japan
Colour: Basic Brown. There are two other oclours in this range: Mode Brown and Street Brown.
Diameter: 14.2mm (Coloured Diameter: 13.5mm)
Water content: 38%
Base Curve: 8.7mm
Precription: -0.00 to -9.00
Price: USD$20 per box from Pinkicon

Each box contains 5 pairs of lenses (10 in total)

Comfort: 9/10

Definitely the most comfortable pair of lenses I have ever tried! However this is not a surprised as daily disposable lenses are usually thin and made for maximum comfort. If you have a problem with lenses drying out your eyes, definitely invest in one day circle lenses. I could wear these for 8 hours with no problem and no need for eye drops. One disadvantage is that because of these thin lenses, they are quite flimsy to work with for the first timer. But there is no problem with it in regards to the lenses moving out of place.

Design: 9/10

Surrounding the lenses are little brown ringlets which blend beautifully into the dark outer rims of the eyes. The portion inside is a pale brown which slightly lightens the iris of the eyes while still keeping the colour natural. The design from the packaging might not look natural but they definitely do when worn.

Enlargement: 6/10 (but this score is irrelevant anyways)

These lenses are not for enlargement hence the low score but the slight enlargement is natural enough to not need makeup to complement it, since usually with 14.5mm diameter+ lenses, it can look quite odd when it is worn without makeup. However since these are marketed as daily lenses, this is perfect.

Colour: 10/10

I love lenses that lighten my eyes. I cannot fault the colour as it manages to keep the wearers eyes looking natural.

Overall: 28/30

The enlargement score is not included because I personally do not think people would be buying daily lenses for the enlargement factor. These lenses are great and I would definitely repurchase them if I needed to wear lenses for daily wear. One general disadvantage about the Select Fairy One Day lenses is that if you have different prescriptions, you will need to buy two boxes. It is only one prescription for each box.

Thank you Pinkicon again for sending me these lenses to review!

Review: Colourpop Lippie Stix Brink (swatches and dupes)

*colourpop lippie stix brink review swatches*

Hello everybody! Hope everyone has been having a good day.

Recently, I made a Colourpop purchase during their Free Internation Shipping promotion (which they have now extended to the end of 2016) and I bought two items. I purchased the Colourpop Lippie Stix in Brink (one of Lily May Mac's lipsticks as seen here) and Colourpop Lip Pencil in Chi. Today I will be reviewing the Colourpop Lippie Stix in Brink, so let's go!

Colourpop Lippie Stix Brink Review

Colourpop Lippie Stix are sold in a slim plastic twist up tube. It is very light, perfect for travel, and the lid pops on securely with an audible click. The shade name is on the bottom of the tube, allowing anyone to easily reach for the colour in a lipstick rack. However, the white colour, though distinct, makes the lip pencil easily dirty but is quick to clean.

Holographic prints are used for the logo on the lippie stix and box, giving a very unique look. The twist mechanic of the lippie stix is smooth to use, easily twisting up and down (there is no lock disallowing you to twist down) and the overall feel is sturdy.

Colourpop Lippie Stix in Brink has a very natural finish that is extremely comfortable to wear throughout the day. It is NOT extremely matte. The Colourpop Lippie Stix has one of the more comfortable formulas along with the Ultra Satin Lips and is a perfect lipstick for someone on the budget. However due to this finish, there is slight transfer.

Colourpop Lippie Stix Brink Swatches

The above picture is a swatch of the Colourpop Lippie Stix in Brink in a cool lighting, while below is in a warm lighting. All swatch photos on this post have been digitally edited to match the real life colour most accurately. In the below photo, I wanted to do a comparison between the dupes I have found, from left to right, the Sleek Matte Me in Birthday Suit, Colourpop Lippie Stix in Brink and the Urban Decay Ultra Nourishing Lip Gloss in Beso. The colours are quite similar but you can see there is a huge difference in finish between these three lip colours. Sleek Matte Me in Birthday Suit is a liquid lipstick that dries completely matte while the Urban Decay Ultra Nourishing Lip Gloss has a glossy finish.

Sleek Matte Me in Birthday Suit is only slightly more darker and pink compared to Colourpop Brink while Urban Decay Ultra Nourishing Lip Gloss in Beso has slight purple undertones.

The finish of the Colourpop Lippie Stix, even though advertised as matte, is not as matte as liquid lipsticks or typical matte MAC lipsticks. However it has a very natural matte finish, with only a very slight sheen. Off topic, but Colourpop Brink also smells very sweet.

Colourpop Brink Dupes (Sleek Matte Me Birthday Suit, Urban Decay Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss Beso)

While looking for Colourpop Brink dupes, these were the three colours and lipsticks that came to mind. The shade Brink is very common and not at all an unique one, but it is very affordable and a great alternative for the Sleek Matte Me in Birthday Suit (if you do not mind the difference in finish).

Colourpop Brink on Light Asian Skin Tone

This is how the Colourpop Lippie Stix in Brink looks like on a light Asian skintone. I have yellow/warm undertones and am around shade NC20 in MAC foundations. In natural lighting and real life, this colour is pure pink with a slight hint of brown, as opposed to what is seen on the Colourpop Brink page (attached below). I would not describe it as a 'warm dusty taupe' but more a 'warm dusty pink'. However I know there are problems with inconsistencies with Colourpop shades so your Brink might not look exactly like mine. My friend has Brink but it leans more brown, even though she has yellow undertones like I do.

The wear time is like any normal natural finish lipsticks. With eating and drinking, you definitely need to apply at 4 hours but it wears forgivingly (from the inside lip first) and doesn't bleed much even without a lip pencil.

Colourpop Brink on Light Skintones

Overall rating? 8/10. It works as a lovely natural finish lipstick that is very comfortable to wear daily. The colour is also wearable for all occasions and the price of US$5 makes it one of the most affordable lipsticks on the market.

I will be doing separate review posts on the Colourpop Brink dupes : Sleek Matte Me in Birthday Suit and Urban Decay Ultra Nourishing Lip Gloss in Beso soon. Please anticipate!

I have a separate YouTube video review on my experience with Colourpop, plus lippie stix and lip pencil first impressions here if you are interested.

Review and Haul: Etude House Global

Etude House Skincare Haul

*Etude House Global Review and Haul*

Hello!

Today I have an Etude House Global review and haul post for you! I made a purchase during their Etude House Pink Day sale promotion last month where they had free shipping on their Korean makeup and skincare products so I decided to make an order. But do not worry if you missed out on that opportunity as they regularly have discounts and free shipping promotions over USD$50.

For the people who do not know what Etude House Global is, it is basically an online store opened by one of South Korea's most popular beauty brands: Etude House! Their Global website was opened for their international fans and provides international shipping, allowing an easier access to their products. All products are sold in USD and the website is in English so it is easily navigable. The web design is very simple with their signature pink branding and you can choose different language settings down the bottom. However one thing I think could be optimised on their website is their search function. It searches and displays all results that matches a specific word. If I were to search Wonder Pore Freshner, other related products would come up as well so that gets annoying when you're just looking for a specific product. But apart from that, their website is user friendly.

P.S. When you sign up, you get a 10% discount so make sure you make an order with a registered account!

Etude House Global Review: Experience and Service

Etude House Global Review

Order made: 25th of October 2016
Date shipped: 26th of October 2016
Order arrived: 14th of November 2016

Before I made the Etude House Global purchase, I created and registered an account online on their website. It isn't explicitly advertised on their website but I was emailed a 10% discount code to use within 60 days, so make sure you know what you want to order before making the account.

I made my order on the 25th of October 2016 and did not expect to see that it was shipped out the very next day. Any online store that has an active promotion usually suffer a delay in order shipment so this was a nice surprise. In comparison to other Korean makeup and skincare stores, this is pretty good. I had no trouble with their service whatsoever and the process was very smooth.

On the 26th of October, I was emailed information on my order shipment but needed to log in to my Etude House account to see the tracking number and information. Their tracking works all the way to the International Dispatch Facility but after that, it does not work. I tried using it on the AusPost tracking feature but it didn't. However this tracking comes with all orders, standard and express, so I treat it as a small perk.

My order arrived on the morning of the 14th of November. It took a total of 12 days (not counting weekends) for the Etude House Global package to ship from Seoul, South Korea to Sydney, Australia. The package came in a large brown box decorated with QR codes and Etude House logos printed on the sides. When I opened the package I was expecting the products to be bubble wrapped, which is the standard and common way to protect products, but I was greeted by brown paper instead. I did not have any glass items in there and none of my products were damaged so I have nothing to complain about it. As well, it also means the whole package is recyclable so I am glad Etude House is going down the environmentally friendly route.

Etude House Global Skincare Haul

I only received one sample from the order (a downside for ordering with Etude House Global) and it was a tester for their Double Lasting foundation. Many other online stores offer more samples with orders but I have so many that I don't use so this isn't much of a problem for me.

Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner Review

Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner 500ml - USD$12.60

"A wonderful ultra pore solution which gives you 10 benefits in 1 single product. This product is total solution for pore care by preventing enlarged pores, promoting firmer skin and eliminating skin troubles from within" - taken from my review

This is a repurchase and I managed to get this 500ml version for only USD$12.60!. EBay and other online Korean beauty stores have the 250ml version for around this price so this was a no brainer purchase as the Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner is one of my favourite toners. It is perfect for people who have sensitive skin or is just starting out with skincare. I have written a Wonder Pore Freshner review previously here.

Buy Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner here.

Etude House AC Clean Up Daily Lotion

Etude House AC Clean Up Gel Lotion 200ml - USD$10.50

"A lotion that controls the oil-moisture balance to prevent any trouble arising.

– Hydrosoluble moisturizer contained: It contains Hydrosoluble moisturizer to banish oily/sticky skin and hydrate skin.
– Light & cooling texture: Various ingredients such as salicylic acid and hinoki cypress extract helps get applied lightly and moistly.

1. It contains salicylic acid to highly care skin troubles
2. Non-comedogenic tested and certified
3. Patent Ingredient composition for acne skin type acquired
4. Main ingredients: Salicylic acid, Hinoki cypress extract, Chaga mushroom, Saururus chinensis"

 - taken from ibuybeauti

This appears to be their repackaged "AC Clinic Daily Gel Lotion" product.

When I made this Etude House Global order, my skin was very troubled. I was breaking out for a reason I could not identify and in my desperation, I decided to try the AC Clean Up Gel Lotion. This product has a few mixed reviews but I love the Etude House AC Pink Powder Spot Treatment so hopefully this will work well for me as well.

Etude House Moistfull Collagen Cream Review Coming Soon

Etude House Moistfull Collagen Cream 75ml - USD$14.28

"Enriched with as much as 30% hydrolyzed marine collagen and baobab leaf mucus, this concentrated moisturizer intensively hydrates skin, making it softer and more youthful-looking. Massage evenly over face after cleansing and toning and pat gently to finish. Best for everyday use." - taken from yesstyle's etude house moistfull collagen cream page

In 2014, I received a lot of samples of the Etude House Moistfull Collagen Cream. This isn't surprising as this is one of Etude House's top skincare sellers. During my trip to Seoul (I have a huge collective haul post on the things I purchased in Seoul here), I brought the samples to try and I really enjoyed using them. The Moistfull Collagen Cream did not break me out and it provided a nice daily hydration, in conjunction with my facial oil. I will definitely be doing an indepth Etude House Moistfull Collagen Cream review soon!

Etude House Moistfull Collagen Eye Cream

Etude House Moistfull Collagen Eye Cream 28 ml - USD$13.44

"A lightweight and refreshing eye cream fortified with Baobab Tree extract and collagen helps keep the eye area smooth and free of lines and wrinkles. The feathery formula quickly penetrates skin’s surface to release rich moisture and collagen right where they are needed to prevent the formation of lines and wrinkles and improve skin elasticity." - taken from yesstyle etude house moistfull eye cream page

The eye cream, part of the Etude House Moistfull range, does not have a lot of reviews online and is less popular than the Moistfull Collagen Cream. However I decided to try this out because of my good experience with the facial cream and thought I could use more collagen in my skincare. I have a lot of fine lines around my eyes which gets accentuated whenever I apply my concealer so I wanted something to deminish them. A review for the Etude House Moistfull Collagen Eye Cream will definitely be coming after I try this out for a few months.

As well, I have planned to do a first impressions and review on these Etude House skincare products on my YouTube channel soon so please anticipate! You can subscribe to my channel HI YOONYEEand watch my video on the Best Korean Skincare here.

How to Spend your Australian Summer Break!

How to Spend Summer Break

It is currently summer here in Australia and most university students are on break. When you think summer break, what is the first thing you think of? For me, it would definitely be any activity that involves the water!

Australian beaches are famous around the world for the beautiful sand and clear waters. However, when you’re looking for a water park to spend the hot sweltering summer days, there are only a few (which is surprising since Australian summers get extremely hot). So what do you do when you’re looking for fun ways to spend your time by the water? Why not try to build your own water games?

Inflatable Zone reached out to me to write about their products right in time for the Australian summer break! So if you’re interested in how to make your summer extra fun, read on below for the products you can buy. You can enjoy any of these products if you have access to a pool, river or lake! I’m not sure if you are allowed to bring these to the beach though so make sure to check with the council before you do.

For water games, my recommendation is this inflatable jumping air bag!

Summer Water Game: Inflatable Air Bag Blob Jump

This inflatable jumping air bag is very common during the summer and can be seen used throughout the year as well on school camping grounds, resorts and water parks! A game that used a similar jumping air bag was featured on a popular South Korean variety show called Running Man. What you do is have someone sit near the end of the bag and have another (I would recommend a heavier person for a higher bounce) jump on to the other end of the bag. The result would have the first person flying into the air! In this photo, you can see the women in the air on the right side. I have never played this game before but it looks like a great thrill. Remember to always wear a life jacket though and always follow through with safety procedures to make sure this activity is fun and safe.
The size of this specific one is 8 metres by 3 metres and can come in different colours if requested.

For more information on the Inflatable Zone Blob Jump check out the link and feel free to check out more water blobs and buy water blobshere.

Inflatable Zone Water Blob

These fun inflatable water blobs is also a great way to get your friends and family outdoors and moving, rather than staying still on the computer all break long. It’ll make for amazing memories and a great time!

Inflatable Zonealso has a YouTube channel for you to see the products in real life, allowing you to see the quality that they offer.

My next post will be a long awaited Etude House Moistfull Collagen Cream review. Stay tuned!

Until next time, annyeong~

Etude House Moistfull Collagen Cream Review and Range
Review of the Etude House Moistfull Collagen Cream
Hello lovelies~ Today I'll be reviewing the Etude House Moistfull Collagen Cream, one of the top and best Etude House skincare sellers! I purchased this when I made an Etude House Global order (their international store) and I have a review and haul of Etude House Global products too if you are interested.

Etude House Moistfull Collagen Cream

Packaging:

The Etude House Moistfull Collagen Cream is housed in a plastic tub with a gradient orange colour. I really like the orange theme running through the Moistfull Collagen line as it makes it easy to locate on my messy table. The tub feels very sturdy because the plastic is thick, the plastic makes up almost half of the body. It is a little see through so you can see how much product there actually is in comparison to the big body.

The label on the front of the tub is stuck on rather than printed so you can remove the label when you're done and have a nice body for your other creams. As well, included in the Etude House Moistfull Collagen Cream is a small spatula so you can get the product without dipping your fingers in and contaminating the cream, great for good hygiene!

Etude House Moistfull Collagen Cream

Etude House Moistfull Collagen Cream

Product:

The cream contains super collagen water particles that is supposed to keep your skin hydrated all day. It promises:

"- 120 hours of Super Collagen™ water effect with proven experimental data
- Improvement on skin layers with outstanding hydrating level seen within 5 days
- Skin gloss lasts 12 hours after application" - taken from Etude House website

With the name "Moistfull Collagen Cream", you would expect the texture to be thick like a cream but in this case, it is not. The texture is very close to a cream and gel hybrid so it is very light, easy to apply and sinks into the skin quickly. It feels almost watery, most likely due to the "super collagen water particles". This is great for people who are looking for a summer moisturiser or something lighter. However, what I love about it is that even though it feels very light and absorbs quickly, it hydrates enough for the cold weather as well. I used this product when I was in Seoul, South Korea during the winter time and paired with a facial oil, this is great. It is the perfect all year around skincare moisturiser.

The cream itself has a slight orange tint but dries completely clear. When applied on to the skin, it feels very soft, supple and not at all sticky so you do not have to wait for a while before heading to bed (in case you rub the product off on your pillow). It has a fruity, refreshing scent that does not dissipate very quickly but I find it relaxing. In addition, this product has not broken me out.

You can use this product during the day or night as a last step moisturiser or mix it in with your foundation or bb cream to have a more dewy base. However, I do not find that the "skin gloss" lasts 12 hours after application.

In conclusion, I definitely recommend this product if you have an oily/combination/normal skin type but this moisturiser works for people with dry skin too. However you might need to use it in conjunction with another lotion/toner. If you have sensitive skin and do not mind fragranced products, you can give this a try too. The downside is that I tend to go through a tub of this very quickly but it has more product than regular moisturisers (30-50ml) so I can't complain too much.
